主题：Mouse cursor and cognitive modelling reveals the Price-Quality tradeoff in apartment renting decisions
讲座摘要：The price-quality tradeoff is a central question in marketing and economics. Recent advancements in modeling decision-process data have made it possible to capture individual differences in sensitivity to product quality and price. However, few studies have tested this in the field with general populations. To address this gap, we conducted a lab-in-the-field study to examine how renters balance apartment desirability against rental price. Our findings reveal that, on average, renters process apartment attributes faster than price information. Crucially, an individual-specific "price computation advantage index," derived from cursor dynamics, predicts the frequency of rent-related choices. In summary, mouse-tracking data offer a valid method for representing individual preferences in naturalistic settings.
